Hobby Plans 2013

As I'm sure a lot of people in the hobby will understand I tend to have far to many projects on the go at any given time, far to many and much more than I could ever hope to complete let alone afford.

I have a hard time staying focused on one project at a time, I will read a Black Library book and get an urge to do a new army, I read Guants Ghosts and the idea of a Guard army grows, I read any Horus Heresy book and a Heresy army takes center stage. This results in many half started projects that end up taking space in my cupboard and not seeing the light of day for a good while, something I am trying to change.

So with that in mind what projects do I have on the go at the moment?


Death Guard

This is my main project at the moment, I am aiming to get 1850 - 2000k points worth painted up this year.


Daemons

This is my main army, it is the first I ever painted and rumour has it we are getting an new codex in March so I will be adding some things to them without a doubt.


Pre Heresy

I really want to get stuck into my pre heresy army but being realistic I know that I will want to spend a good amount of time on this project so it will be on the back burner until I finish my Death Guard not to mention that I'm sure I will want to have certain Forgeworld models which means this is gonna be a really expensive project.


These are just the three main things that I want to work on at the moment, I am going to try and focus on these projects but who knows what will come out later in the year.


So do you end up getting stuck with to many projects on the go?

I'm looking forward to getting stuck into these however I think I may do a squad of Plague Marines first though just to make sure I have the colour scheme down as I want these to look decent.

Hobby Update

Plaguebearers

I had a day off so I managed to get my plaguebearers done to tabletop standard (kinda) I'm happy with how they turned out but I will go back and add some extra details when I get some time.

I've been reading the Deamon rumours and I gotta say I hope they are true, new book and new units all sound pretty good, something to work on along side my Death Guard.

Nurgle-ly Goodness

While I'm waiting on some Forgeworld bits to arrive of my Death Guard I thought I would begin work on the newest addition to my Daemons

I was very impressed with this kit and found it much easier to build than those fiddly Daemonettes, also as a small bonus you get enough Nurglings in the box to make a good base of them as well.

I'm hoping to get these sprayed start painting them tomorrow time permitting.

I am about to start a new project, one I've been wanting to do for a while, a Death Guard army.

Nurgle is by far my favourite aspect of chaos and I really love the Death Guard.

This is roughly what I'm going for at around 1500 pts, I'm doing this for fun not to be a competitive or an optimised list. I am going to make a few more lists to see what feels right but Typhus and his Terminator escort are going to be the center of the army no matter what.

'And so we begin'

Why?

I need motivation, I am very easily distracted and get bored very quickly, that's why I started this blog.

The thought behind it being that if I feel the need to update my blog I will feel the need to paint something to update it with. Thats the plan anyway.

I am by no means a great or even good painter, nor am I great at making minis, using green stuff, basing the list goes on. I do hope that over time you will see an improvement in all of the above through  practice and patience.
